With the exception of about two hours when I was having dinner with my new friend Julie, I’ve been compulisively watching KGW and refreshing button on CNN’s Election 2006 website. It’s been an inspiring night, one that has given me a greater respect for the American people.

As I type this, Oregon Governor Kulongoski is delivering his victory speech, the Dems are projected to take the House, the parental notification for abortion measure is failing, and the Senate race likely won’t be decided for weeks. So I’m going to bed.

Here’s to waking up in a new America.
