AND Lisa is buying me drinks tonight!
Two great things happened today, and it’s only 4 p.m.
1. At about 2:15 p.m., I heard this announcement come over the loud speaker at work, “Attention all employees: ice cream and other sunday ingredients are now available to everyone in the break room.” Apparently it’s someone’s birthday. God bless The Man.
2. The smoking ban initiative will be on the ballots this November. I have friends, and at least one ex-boyfriend, who are smokers, so I know this one is probably going to get me into a bit of trouble. But as much as I hate the idea of my friends having to stand in front of a bar rather than smoke in peace inside of it, I have to say I’m pretty excited at the idea of not smelling like I slept with the Marlboro Man after spending a night out.

I thought that the Marlboro Man was your type? You mean I’ve been doing this portly swagger and saying crap like “Ma’am” and “……… (insert steely eyed, sun creased stare here)………” all this time and I didn’t have to?! Damn!

The Marlboro Man is old enough to be your great grandpa,,,,,, and I think he died of lung cancer a few years ago. Honest! But I agree with you about the smoke.

Damn the smoking ban. You wanna live forever!? Seriously, as a smoker, I have to say that the smoking ban is no big deal. In fact, I think it’s a good thing. People in SF and NYC have adjusted, why cant we?
