Crush of the Week, part 1
This week, I have a crush on the boy I saw at the Tin Hat last night. I didn’t see him when I first got there, but on his way back from the bathroom or the bar, he made significant eye contact and I noticed how tall and cute and dark haired he was. When he and his friends left, he made even more eye contact and actually, gasp, smiled. Just as I was about to muster all my confidence and go say hi, he left. Not without waving goodbye first.
Of course, I found out later that he lives in New York with his girlfriend. Which makes total sense. No way would a single guy from Seattle be capable of making, and maintaining, that kind of eye contact. And smiling? Fuhgeddaboudit.
In any case, I appreciated the cross-bar flirting. (Particularly because I had been to the gym earlier and, even though I’d showered, I hadn’t done my hair or cared to put on more than mascara.) The little “hee hee hee” feeling will sustain me until next week’s installment of “Crush of the Week.”
