It’s Wednesday, I’m in love. I just don’t know which band member it’s with. Not terribly surprising, really.<\/p>\n
This past weekend, I took a look at my CDs and thought, “Blech.” So I went to my second favorite music store and bought the first thing that came to mind. The National had been in my head since I heard “Secret Meeting” earlier that week, so I grabbed it. It was on sale and everything. I didn’t expect much; just needed something to vary the constant rotation of Arcade Fire, the new Death Cab, and a mix BFE made me called, appropriately enough, “Speeding Ticket.”<\/p>\n
Holy crap! I haven’t been able to stop listening to Alligator since I bought it. I’m in full-blown obsession now. I’m scouring the web for lyrics, pictures, details of each band member’s personal life. It’s like Interpol <\/a>and Kings of Leon <\/a>all over again. I so needed this as fall goes into full swing.<\/p>\n I’ve never been very good at describing music I like. I mostly leave that task to either Joe or Slamm. But here’s my best shot: they sound like Interpol would sound if they allowed themselves a little levity and Calvin Johnson was the lead singer. <\/p>\n AND…they are hot! Two sets of brothers and a lead singer who is exactly the kind of guy I’m into right now: tall, blonde, bearded, completely unavailable.<\/p>\n It KILLS me to have to sit here all day and not listen to them. <\/p>\n
