Something similar happened a few months ago when they changed Portland Boulevard to Rosa Parks Way. I didn&#8217;t even know it was going to happen until the new street signs were up. <\/p>\n<p>Anyway, when people started raising a big stink about renaming Interstate, the city council decided maybe it was a better idea to rename 4th Ave. <\/p>\n<p>Being directionally challenged (I&#8217;m still learning my way around Portland more than a year and half after moving here), I honestly don&#8217;t care what they call the street names. I&#8217;m still gonna get lost on them, so call them whatever the hell you want. <\/p>\n<p>But this morning, I got an email from a friend that said this:<\/p>\n<p><em>With all of the hoopla surrounding the proposed rename of a Portland street to honor Cesar Chavez, we at Geek in the City noticed that technology is under-represented in the naming of our city streets.<\/p>\n<p>We have begun a campaign has begun to change the name of 42nd Avenue to Douglas Adams Boulevard.
